The importance of an Ionic Foot bath

September 5, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bath salts

The japanese people have always religiously practiced bathing the feet and experienced the wonderful rejuvenation the practice brings. Soaking the feet in hot springs is considered great for energizing the body due to the ionized minerals in the water.  In time the inclusion of vegetables, fruits and herbs was brought into the foot bath to give even more therapeutic effects.  Since then the foot bath , also known as the foot spa has become one of the most sought out after treatments that people go for in spas and massage clinics.
These days peoples diets have become more toxic then natural, pollution in the enironment makes it worse, and the chances of contracting some deadly virus from bacteria is as high as ever, probably higher. Studies and research has shown that a certain amount of toxins must be removed to balance the PH and therefore boost up the energy levels in the body.
Detoxificatoin has become a very well known word especially in reference to the cleansing of the kidneys and colon. The connection to our feet with our vital organs has also been found, and these are the targeted areas that are focused on during the detoxification process.
There are about 7000 nerve endings at the sole of our foot and about 2000 pores. It is the pores of our skin that are part of the system that excretes toxins and waste materials our body is not using.  This is the reason why the feet are the easiest area to carry out the detoxification process, and this brought about the beginning of the ionic foot bath.  Ionic foot baths use the simple process of electrolysis to ionize the water.  During the procedure the molecules of water become negatively charged to attract the positively charged toxins that are in the body. The chemical reaction goes through the water causing osmosis to commence, causing the pores in the feet to open and then flushing the toxins out the body. Waste particles may be excreted during this time such as cholesterol, fats, heavy metals and salts.  There are no health risks associated with foot baths, but they will make you feel comfortable and relaxed. It is also one of the fastest ways to detoxify.  It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to have a foot bath detox session, all you have to do is sit in your own chair while your feet are soaked in warm ionized water.
The ionic foot baths offer many therapeutic and energy giving effects, and many people have claimed a lot of health benefits.  Many people have written about how some health conditions have been alleviated such as neck and muscle pain, chronic fatigue, asthma, allergies, migraine, yeast infection, arthritis, rheumatism, toxemia, and the removal of heavy metal residues and more.
When you learn more about the PH balance, free radicals and alkalinity that we have in the body it will give you a better understanding of the processes of ionization and detoxification, that an ionic foot bath can do for you.  And this is why we here at Healthier living for you, offer you the most powerful 3 in 1 FIT foot bath in the world.  With three very effective therapies that have been proven and tested to change the way you feel for the better!

Some Important Tips When Choosing A Deep Bath

September 3, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bathtubs

There are different types of bath you can install in your bathroom. However, one of the best baths you can use is a deep bath. A deep bath offers many benefits that you will not find in other types of bathtubs. That is why if you want to replace your old bathtub or if you are remodel your bathroom you should seriously consider purchasing a deep bath. The benefits you receive from a deep bath will certainly improve your bathing experience.

Deep baths are ideal for therapeutic bathing and soaking. You can immerse your whole body in a deep bath, and the effects of warm soaking are much greater. Simply fill up your tub with warm water and add medicated therapeutic herbs in your bath to recreate you own Spa experience. A deep soak bath can also help with many age-related medical conditions. Complete body soaking is possible only in deep baths. That is why it is important to have a deep bath if you want to get the full health benefits of warm water soaking therapy.

Deep baths are also ideal for small bathrooms. Although most deep baths have standard length and sizes, you can find compact or small deep baths that will be suitable for your bathroom. In fact, even some corner baths are deep. The most common compact deep bath is the Playa Bath, which is also known as the sits bath. These baths are only 1200mm long but are very deep. A standard bath is around 380mm deep, deep baths tend to be between 400mm & 550mm deep depending on the manufacturer.

Most of us would love nothing better than to come home after a tough day at the office and sink in to a warm deep bath with aromatherapy oils to relax every muscle in our body. However the thought of the extra expense involved in this kind of purchase pushes most people to settle for a standard bathtub when remodeling their bathroom. The great news is that if your about to install a new bathroom there are a verity of deep baths that wont break the bank but will make your bathroom feel like a five star hotel with it’s luxury bathtub.

For those of you with a few extra pounds to spend and a little more room, have a look at the Shires – Largo Luxury Double Ended Bath. This bath is 1800mm x 1079mm. You can almost fit three people in it. What better way to spend a romantic night with your partner submerged in a warm luxury deep bath.

The importance of cleaning your Whirlpool Bath

August 31, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bathtubs

Do I need to clean my whirlpool bathtub? ………. YES:
The use of soaps, bubble bath additives, shampoos, conditioners etc in your whirlpool bath can all contribute to the build up of bath deposits inside the pipework.
Substances such as body oils, skin, soap scum, and general grime can be quite difficult to shift if it is allowed to build up over time.
Any organic build up inside the pipelines can encourage the growth of bacteria, which  if not treated may result in an unhygienic system and ugly black flecks being seen in the water.

The conditions inside the whirlpool pipework are warm and damp, whch is the ideal environment to harbour bacteria. It is vital therefore that the pipework is flushed out regularly with specialist whirlpool cleaning and sanitising products in order to help reduce any build up of bath deposits and minimse the growth of bacteria.

All whirlpool bathtubs have a small amount of residual water left in the pipes, minerals in the water are capable of calcifying around the insides of the pipes.
This hard scale build up not only restricts water flow, but becomes a breading ground for bacteria. As the algae breaks off, you will see it in your bath water as ugly black flecks.

An even greater health risk comes from the germs and bacteria that are left from previous bathers. Fecal matter, cold and flu germs are basic household germs that can be controlled if properly cleaned.

I don’t use my whirlpool system very often do I still have to clean it?  ………YES,
Even if the  whirlpool bath is used as a normal bath tub and the whirlpool isn’t activated, the pipework will still get flooded with bath water, this means that soaps, bubble baths etc will leave a residue inside the pipework when the bath water is drained. If this build up is not removed it may encourage bacterial growth.

How do I clean inside my whirlpool bath?
There are specialist whirlpool bath cleaning & sanitising products available on the market to help make tackle these problems.
Most whirlpool cleaners contain a detergent ingredient & a degreaser to help break down the grime inside the pipes & flush it out, these should be used regularly.

Whirlpool sanitising tablets are also available and these help to minimise the growth of bacteria in the pipes. Sanitising tablets do not offer any cleaning properties & are only really effective in systems that have been cleaned. They are designed to keep the system hygieninc and fresh in between uses.

In order to be effective whirlpool cleaning products need to be used very regulalry & ideally from day one, you should also try to use a sanitising tablet in between the time that you clean your system in order to help minimise the growth of bacteria.
Always refer to the instructions on the bottle as each product is different.

Prevention is better than cure & whirlpool bath owners should take care to avoid using bath oils, emollient skin products and heavy soaps as these create a build up inside the pipes that can be difficult to shift.

Are all whirlpool cleaning products the same?
NO….Some whirlpool cleaning products are much more effective than others.
When choosing a whirlpool cleaner or sanitiser, you should beware of brands that claim to work miracles at very low doses. These products may seem like good value, but be warned…most average bath tubs hold at least 150 Litres of water & some whirlpool cleaners claim to work with a dose of just 50-100mls of product!
This sounds great, but actually is likely to be very ineffective. When a cleaning product is diluted into this amount of water its efficacy is significantly decreased.
A 50 – 100ml sachet dose of whirlpool cleaner in 150 litres of water is very unlikely to have any cleaning power left at all!

Living it Up in a Bath Spa Hotel

August 27, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bath set

The high life is often best experienced hidden. Some of the finest hotels in the UK are concealed behind plain entrances or in little side streets. A Bath spa hotel is no exception – particularly when one is talking about a hotel at par with the excellent Haringtons, cunningly concealed just minutes’ walk from Bath’s famous namesake. Where the Romans knew how to pamper themselves – and a visit to Bath’s star attraction will provide ample evidence of that – the modern citizen, that is, the modern visitor to one of the UK’s loveliest cities, knows how to do the same thing, 21st century style.

Bath is full of good accommodation (as befits one of the top destinations for the more well-heeled UK traveller), but not much of it comes up to the mark set by the Bath spa hotel. In a spa hotel, the visitor to Bath can really feel the buzz of the city dropping away, uncurling like the creamy towels in their bathroom or the wreaths of steam escaping from the luxurious rain-room style shower. That’s precisely the counterpoint Bath achieves across the board – with its entertainment, its drinking and dining facilities, and its culture. There’s a mass of stuff to do and see; a rip roaring night life; and a super chic boutique feel to the stores: interspersed with cafes, little boulevard eateries and quiet bars. Bath is a city full of buzz and joie de vivre: it’s also the sleepy little town Jane Austen loved to write about. The Bath spa hotel captures the balance with ease: ultimate luxury, superlative entertainment (in bars, in gym and fitness suite); and unparalleled relaxation.

The best thing of all about this kind of hotel – unless one knows, one doesn’t know. That, of course, is the telling element with all fashion; with everything exclusive; with everything cool. If a person doesn’t know where to find something, that person is not in on the action. Now, in a city as small as Bath, a little exclusivity goes a long way. Everyone does what everyone else does, so finding a perfect back water where very few people go – and then staying there, in utter luxury – guarantees an experience of the city few will be so lucky to get. Getting a Bath spa hotel like Haringtons on one’s agenda very definitely hits this category. To find one’s own back street, one’s own oasis, right in the heart of the trendy wine bars, the chic restaurants and the very 21st century gastro pubs, is the apogee of holiday success. What a feeling, to relax on the private terrace of one’s hotel restaurant, just metres from a main street, surrounded by lights, the flowers of a tree, perfect soothing calm.

Exclusivity, of course, breeds its own brand of popularity. Finding the perfect hotel in Bath is possible – but a Bath spa hotel like Haringtons tends to book up quickly and with a very definite finality. Get dates, get booking, and avoid disappointment. It’ll be well worth it.

Bath Accommodation for the Ultimate City Break

August 26, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bath set

The city break has always been popular. It’s getting more so, now that shorter holidays are seen as preferable to more expensive longer vacations: this year in particular, people are opting for domestic holidays with a long weekend type time span, rather than going abroad for a week or two weeks. The advantages of the city break are manifold – first, one doesn’t have to take so much time off work, and second, one can fit several into a year because they’re shorter and more compact. Where to go, though? Well, Bath is a good bet – particularly with the wealth of different options Bath accommodation has to offer. One would suggest that the Bath spa hotel, in particular, is the ideal location for a short, energising break.

With its deluxe combinations of old style building and new style atmosphere, a spa hotel ticks all the boxes for a modern city break. It offers superb luxury within its walls, it’s always close to the action and it will usually pride itself on its seclusion and discreetness – which is to say that it’s the one form of Bath accommodation guaranteed to be right in the heart of things without being too noisy or over the top. The whole point of a spa hotel, after all (and a Bath spa hotel is no different) is to offer guests an oasis in the middle of everything – a place where they can retreat after a busy day out and about; or, if they so wish, where they can hide away and relax while the world bustles past outside.

There’s a particular hotel in Bath’s side streets: one that exemplifies everything the city breaker loves about the spa hotel. It’s called Haringtons, and it sets a bench mark for the upper qualities of hotel in the city – it’s small enough to be intimate, big enough to be private and old enough to be classy. Most importantly of all, perhaps, Haringtons is really hidden away, located within throwing distance of everything that goes on in the West Country’s favourite city but removed from it all at the same time. This Bath spa hotel exemplifies all that’s best about the higher echelons of Bath accommodation – a person could literally walk past it without knowing it was there; but a guest, seated in its private terraced dining area, can watch the whole city without having it intrude on his or her peace and quiet.

It is hotels like Haringtons that make Bath what it is – a top class destination for city breakers who want peace in the middle of the action. With such a distinguished past to display (Jane Austen and the Roman Empire, how much more sophisticated can one town get?), Bath is ripe old territory for the wine bar and coffee brigade – and Bath accommodation makes them welcome in pretty much as many ways as they could care to desire. There are bed and breakfasts, room only hotels, up market boarding houses, convenient little hotels – the list is endless, but the king (and Queen) of all of them is, and always will be, the Bath spa hotel.

The Many Types of Bath Toys

August 21, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bathtubs

Bath toys have become popular throughout the ages for many reasons. One of them is their use in popular culture, as bath toys can add a cute, whimsical feel to children’s movies and cartoons. Kids love the toys because they turn bath time into a fun, exciting activity instead of an uncomfortable, fidgety ritual. Parents like bath toys because of their ability to enchant screaming, soapy, wriggling toddlers.

Of all of the bath toys, rubber duckies are probably the most popular. They are referred to as rubber “duckies,” “duckys,” and “ducks,” though they reside in acrylic bathtubs instead of ponds. It’s an iconic bathtub figure, celebrated in different bathtubs throughout pop culture and modern day industry.

Rubber duckies, unlike ordinary duckies, are made entirely out of rubber or vinyl. Though the most common rubber duckies are vivid yellow in hue, several modern duckies (devil duckies, jester duckies, pirate duckies, skull duckies, etc) are painted in different colors and adorned with tiny pieces of rubber clothing.

The exquisite design of the rubber duck has inspired many interior architects to release new lines of rubber duck bathroom shower fixtures to go with rubber duck bathroom fixtures. Indeed many commercial bathroom fixtures attempt to imitate or accompany the colors and shape of the widely recognized figures. Their attempts were not in vain, though it cannot be denied that the rubber duck goes best with plain porcelain restrooms.

Another common bath toy is the plastic sailboat. The plastic sailboat is not as popular as the rubber duckie. This is because it has several sharp edges and breakable parts that make it an unsuitable companion for especially young and curious bathers. In addition, the rubber duckie has a simple and perfect design, something that a complex boat cannot accomplish. Nevertheless, the plastic sailboat has landed in a close second amongst the rankings of bath toys.

For the safety of your guests, plastic sailboats should not be used in spas. They are extremely useful for hot tubs, however, which also can apply to cheaper inflatable hot tubs. Extremely fancy and sturdy plastic boats make for a novel way of carrying crackers, cheeses, chilled drinks, and delicate electronics while you and your guests lounge around. These boats can be painted to look like pirate ships, toy boats, and other symbols in order to match the theme of your get together.

Plastic Hot Tub Sailboat technology is largely unexplored, so it the toy is used more often in the bathtub nowadays. These little toy boats commonly come with toy marines, tourists, and sailors, which can smile and float in the sudsy sea of the bathwater.

Bubbles are probably the most overlooked, yet most important of all of the bathtub toys. Soap bubbles give the child something soft and harmless to play with. They can put it in their hair, make beards of it, and stuff it in their ears. The best part is that it’s clean, affordable, and does not have any sharp edges. Unfortunately, it tastes bad and does not last as long as other toys.

Take a Sauna Bath for a Better Night?s Sleep

August 20, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bath set

We all feel extremely stressed from time to time. In order to deal with stress, people adopt several different methods. Some people decide to escape by getting involved in a hobby or making a conscious choice to set aside thirty minutes a day for themselves. It can be hard to stick with this game plan, however, because something always comes up. The kids need help with their math homework or a friend calls asking a favor. Stress is something you need to be able to deal with or it soon takes a physical toll! Eating nutritiously and getting an adequate amount of sleep every night helps keep your body in good shape to deal with the weekly amount of stress.

It is so easy to worry about the next day at the office or how the schedule for the next week will work out, that it can be hard to turn your brain off in order to fall asleep. In order to get a great night sleep, you need to learn how to relax before bed. One of the best ways to do so is to take a sauna bath!

Saunas have become more and more popular in North America in the last decade. New technology and manufacturing methods have even made steam rooms more and more affordable. No longer do you only find sauna rooms in spas and high-end fitness centers; you now see them in homes. People are using them several times a month to help improve their blood circulation, relax their tense muscles and joints, and open up their lungs so that they can breathe more easily. Steam rooms also help you have a better night’s sleep!

The heat and steam of the sauna bath helps your mind let go of the stress it accumulates over the course of the day and puts your entire body at ease. It is a great idea to spend fifteen minutes in your home sauna before getting ready for bed. It is the perfect ritual to start right away; you will start feeling more refreshed when you wake up in the morning and much more ready to tackle whatever the day has in store!
