Make Time to Catch Up With Girl Friends

September 4, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bathrobe

It’s funny how we always make time to do the chores we have to do regularly – do the shopping, go to work, feed the dog. But when it comes down to looking after ourselves – and our girl friends – many of us really do fall far short of the mark.

Our girl friends can be wise, funny and sometimes a little crazy – but they’re always there for us. We can tell them things we wouldn’t even tell our own mother. And if a sorrow shared really is a sorrow halved, we should learn to lean on each other in times of trouble. But we can’t do that if we don’t stay in touch with our girl friends. We sometimes go for weeks without getting in touch – and let’s face it, a feeble text really doesn’t count. And how often do we intend to phone our friend one day only to let it slip into a week, then a month, before we actually get around to doing it?

With so many ups and downs in life, it’s all too easy to see friends as only being there in times of sadness and difficulty, but catching up with our girl friends benefits us in so many ways. That’s why a night away with them can be such a tonic. It’s important to celebrate true friends – and a night away with nothing to do but have fun and catch up is most probably the most wonderful way of doing just that. It’s so easy to make excuses and not bother to arrange a catch up, but when you finally get around to it, you’ll probably wonder why you didn’t do it months ago.

Many hotels offer really great girl’s nights in, where groups of friends are made to feel at home and treated like princesses. And you can tailor your stay according to your preferences. Some girls want to put on the glamour and glitz, dining in style, whilst others are happy to sit in their bathrobes all evening, painting their nails and watching a DVD in their guest room. Whatever you choose, make sure the hotel can cater for your requirements. If you want some pampering during your stay, make sure the hotel has a spa that can offer the treatments you like – and it’s probably wise to book them when you make your hotel reservation. If you think you might fancy a swim when you’re there, make sure there’s a swimming pool – and that you all pack your costumes.

Life can be stressful and quite often, after a tough week at work, the last thing you feel like doing is packing your bags and heading off with the girls. But how can a night of pure indulgence, great company, a bit of pampering and no housework in sight be anything other than fantastic?

So next time you’re sat at home on the settee on a Friday night watching television, flicking through the channels looking for something worth watching and feeling bored, just think how much more fun it would be if you were sitting with the girls in a beautiful hotel room, catching up and letting your hair down.

Catch the Conference Boom

August 31, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: spa bathrobe

As the meetings industry is often affected by the economy, current events and changes in corporate budgets, conference centers and hotels have all seen group business come and go over the last several years.

There are multiple factors we can attribute to the increase in meetings business. On a basic level, many conference budgets have been reinstated as companies continue to see the positive influence of face-to-face group meetings for off-site training, annual sales meetings and team-building activities. In addition, many of today’s booming industries can now afford to hold more lavish events and meetings than ever before. Best of all, a sure sign that this trend is here to stay can be seen in the growing number of advance bookings which are now made as much as six months in advance.

Seeing that the trend in corporate meetings and conferences is back it is very important for any hotel/motel etc… to ensure that they have what these business’s desire.

Rooms should be equipped with video cassette players, combo printer/copy/fax/scanners, and two phone lines with data port, speakerphone capabilities and cordless dual-line phones. Plus access to the Internet through LCD TV sets.

Rooms should also have work area with a desk, a fax machine, coffee machine, paper, staples, paper clips, plus 24-hour access to a printer and photocopy machine.

There should be multi function rooms to cater to meetings, theatre style seminars and promotions and exhibitions, and the facility for dinners and lunches with full audio + video conferencing facilities.

It is crucial that the hotel has conference rooms and business meeting areas that are quiet and peaceful away from disturbances.

The hotel should be well connected to airports and stations, it should have round the clock chauffeured services and it’s always plus to have a helicopter service as well.

There should be multi-cuisine restaurants twenty-four hour coffee shops and a well stocked bar.

There should be options for a quick breakfast of coffee and croissant in the lobby or an abundant breakfast buffet.

Customer service should be ultra quick and efficient so focus remains on the conference and business agenda.

It’s a plus to have Gyms& Spa facilities, as it has become an important feature for today’s business travelers.

Small features like one-hour pressing, overnight dry-cleaning and in-room amenities that facilitate traveling light are also a big boon for corporate travelers.

Club lounge serving complimentary breakfast and cocktails, extra thick towels and bathrobes, magazines, newspapers and designer toiletries are another attractive bonus.

Many corporations are continuing to choose facilities such as conference center venues over traditional hotels. There is also a greater demand for amenities such as spas, haute cuisine, conference centers and top-technology with the company’s need for value, service and convenient locations.
